Proof that Sam Concepcion could make it in the biz on his own is the countless awards he has received over the years including titles such as ‘Hottest Teen Star’, ‘Favorite Male Singer’, ‘Celeb Cutie’ and many more. His fan base had also increased ever since he joined Star Magic’s roster of talents and has become more visible as a mainstay in ASAP. Between releasing his second album (I’ll Find Your Heart) and staging his first solo birthday concert at Music Museum, he was also chosen to sing the theme of Kung Fu Panda as well as World Vision’s Ambassador for Children, all in the span of one year.
After going solo for many years, he recently proved that he is also a great team player as he joined Giggerboys (which includes Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, AJ Perez, Arron Villaflor, Dino Imperial, and Chris Gutierrez), the newest all-male teen group who has made a lot of girls go crazy with their good looks, talent, and wit especially now that they top-bill the weekly teenserye entitled Your Song Presents Boystown. “It is my first time to actually work with them in a series and I can say that it’s an experience I’ll always remember. I really enjoy working with them kasi we learn from each other. Close na rin kami sa isa’t isa kaya tulad ng sinabi nila, yung chemistry ng isang barkada nandun na rin. Hindi mahirap umarte sa harap ng camera kasi the bond we have made is really great,” he says in an interview with ABS-CBN.com.
In Your Song Presents Boystown, he plays the role of Bobet, an orphan who never stopped hoping that he would be reunited with his mom when it’s obvious that she has no plans of going back for him at the shelter. “When he was 9 years old, iniwanan siya ng nanay niya sa Boystown kasi siguro hindi na siya kasi kayang buhayin. Sabi sa kanya, ‘Babalikan kita sa birthday mo. Huwag ka aalis diyan sa Boystown ha.’Pero ilang taon na yung lumipas hindi pa rin siya binabalikan. Si Bobet naman umaasa pa rin na babalikan siya ng nanay niya every year to the point na every birthday niya mag-eempake siya ng gamit at maghihintay sa gate ng Boystown. Yun yung sad part dun. Pero at the same time, very blessed din siya to have friends in Boystown na nagpapasaya sa kanya despite everything,” he shares.
Unlike his role in I Love Betty La Fea, Sam finds himself without a love team this time around. But since Boystown is a coming of age story and he happens to be old enough to court a girl he likes, ABS-CBN.com asked him if there is someone in showbiz whom he considers girlfriend material other than his longtime crush Nikki Gil. “Sa totoo lang kasi bago lang po ako sa Star Magic, one year pa lang ako. Hindi ako nakapag-About Ur Luv so hindi ko masyadong kilala pa yung mga girls. Yung panliligaw hindi naman plinaplano yun eh. But yun nga, parang tinitignan ko muna yung priorities ko which is my school and this ‘di ba? For now, training lang muna ng training sa singing, dancing, and acting,” he beams.
Dubbed as one of the youngest heartthrobs in the biz, Sam was quick to thank all his fans for being supportive of his career all these years. “It’s really hard to believe. Feeling ko minsan ganoon pa rin ako, yung normal na bata, yung nag-aaral lang. I am just thankful sa lahat nangyayari. Nakakatuwa nga kasi the Samsters pretty much know everything about me. Kasi alam mo lagi silang nandun for me. Every show, sa set, pumupunta yang mga ‘yan nakikipagkwentuhan. If not for them naman, I wouldn’t have accomplished so many things in my career. That’s why I hope that I continue to better my craft para hindi masayang yung tiwalang binibigay nila sa akin.”

He's Bobet. Masasabi nyo na siguro kung masama siya or mabait and just so you know...the BOBET character was played by GABBY CONCEPCION sa original movie! In that movie, namatay ang older brother niya.. he blamed ARNEL (played by WILLIAM MARTINEZ), but they reconciled in the end.altho binago ang story, it's a good feeling to know...na kahit chuwariwap si sam, he relived the character of gabby.well, ang gusto ko lang sabihen... BIGATIN PA RIN!

3 Things SCC doesn't know about me:]
1: I've traveled a lot just to get to Sam's gigs and yet I don't know how to cross the street until now!
2: I don't have a copy of Sam's album (sorry Sam!) coz my mom won't let me buy one ;(
3: Everytime I enter a 7-11 store, the video that is playing in thier plasma TV is Sam's I'll Find Your Heart. I don't know why but it happened with all the 7-11 stores I entered.

- My first crush was my seatmate back when I was in Kinder. - My most embarassing moment was during a practice of our choir back in my first year. I was told to call other members of the choir pronto so I ran. When I reached the landing of the stairs, I slipped and all the other students stared at me in disbelief. I didn't stand up at once so it won't look too obvious. Someone helped me to rise and I found a huge cut across my right knee. Ouch ;[
- The first time I saw Sam was in a tv for Maggi commercial when I was in the 2nd grade. I was amazed on how he sang the "parang may isang anghel" and I immediately memorized it (I can still sing it to you now!) I was drawn to him from that moment on.
- I love to smile because that is the only thing I can share to anyone anytime. - There was a time when my mom texted me that Samuel is at the Walter Mart Makati for the opening of Karate Kid branch there. During that time, I still don't have a photo with Sam though I've seen him in his gigs. I was so jealous because my mom will get to see Samuel. When my mom got home, she showed me a picture of her and Sam. I was like "mom!!!! what's this?!" I felt miserable because I'm the fan and yet mom had her pic with Samuel first before I do. She teased me about it for the rest of the day.
- My first impression about Sam was that I thought he's the serious type of person who will not crack up even in the funniest joke. I proved myself wrong! He's persistent (in a good way) and jolly and he knows how to praise our Almighty Father. - Memorable words Sam told me...
Sam: Hey Rham! Happy Birthday! How old are you? Rham: (I didn't understand what he said coz he kind of mumbled it and I was like "huh?!") Sam: Ilang taon ka na? Rham: Oh, 15 ;D Sam: Wow. That's great. So, I wish you all the best. May God bless you. -- those words are oh - so memorable because he approached me to greet me for my birthday ;)
SCC is my third family and the first reason of my gala. It is not just Samuel I'm looking forward to see but also my fellow Samsters whom I can spend some good time with.

Last September 13, I celebrated my first ever birthday at SCC. Truth to be told, September 16 was the actual date of my birthday but I decided the celebration on that day because Sam has a show at SM Sucat and I was planning on going there.
Originally, all the members ofD’anothers were to go to Sucat but unfortunately, some of us has more important things to attend to so our Get Together was cancelled that day.
Bea and I planned to go to Sucat late because both of us are busy in some school stuff. At 2:00 PM, I arrived at her house but she isn’t there yet thus, I waited for her for 30 minutes. While waiting, I texted Kuya Noriel to ask if it will be okay for him to wait for us so we can all go together. Half an hour later, Bea arrived at her house and 5 minutes after, we headed for 7-11 Rotonda to convene with Kuya Noriel. We met up with him then set off to the MRT Station at Shaw. We alighted at the North Avenue station and converged with Aileen there. The four of us departed to Sucat right away.
We arrived at SM Sucat 20 minutes past four. Obviously, we were late for the show. While walking to the venue, we all wondered who’s going to be there. We all bet that it will still be the same folks who are always going to Sam’s gigs. As anticipated, we were right. We immediately saw our fellow Samsters, Ate Sarah, Ate Yen, Janelle and three other persons I don’t know. Those whom I didn’t know introduced theirselves to Bea and I. Minutes later, the show ended and us Samsters went straight to Karate Kid(which is right beside the show’s venue) to eat ‘coz we are all starving. Sam also went to KK whereas Kuya Noriel and Ate Sarah were invited to be at Sam’s table. Before munching, Aileen bought me a cake so that it will really look like it’s my birthday. J While we are all eating, I sensed that Kuya Noriel is planning something (which was actually true.haha!) because they kept on looking at me while I gobble on my food. They even asked me to wave to some of the Elites they were talking to. “I smell something fishy...” I thought.
As I was still devoured on my provisions, I noticed Sam walked over the counter to have some picture taken with the staff, at first, I thought he was about to go but I was surprised to see him walking over our table! As I swallowed a mouthful of steak into my mouth, (that’s because of shock, truly.haha) he tapped me on my shoulders and as I looked around, I found SAM looking at me and he said, “Hi Rham! Happy Birthday! How old are you?” At first, I didn’t understand the “how old are you” part ‘coz he sort of mumbled it. Haha. Then I said, “Thanks! Ahm, huh?” “Ilan taon ka na?” he answered back. “Oh, 15. I’m 15.” I replied while smiling wildly. “That’s cool… Blah blah blah” I forgot the other things that he said, haha. After some talking, Picture-taking time! I suddenly found myself looking into more than a dozen cameras at our way. Every one was taking our photo. Haha! I’m in the spotlight today! A bit later, I gave the other Samsters a chance to also have their picture taken with Sam. Every Samster who approaches him, Sam always says, “Happy Birthday!” haha.. And after some time, it was Sam’s time to go, the crowd parted as he passed by. Then there he is, going, going and gone. Whew, I can’t believe it. Then I saw TitaGene walking over us and asking, “Asan yung may birthday?” then I approached her. She greeted me, shook my hand then walked away. Haha. I feel so fortunate! ‘Coz in all of the SCC members, Tita Gene knows only a few of us. And now I’m lucky enough to be one of them. J
While we were walking, I still can’t believe what had just happened. Sam approaching, Sam talking to me, Sam putting his arms over my shoulders, Tita Gene’s greetings. Everything just seems like a dream. A dream that came into reality.
As we walk away from SM Sucat, disregarding all the noise that I have been hearing, I was trying to focus, to concentrate, to fix everything in my mind forever.
